Cove Mail
Terms of Service
Effective date: September 3, 2026
These Terms govern your download, purchase, installation, and use of Cove Mail. Cove Mail is a Mac email app operated by Michael Danko. By downloading, installing, or using Cove Mail, you agree to these Terms. If you use Cove Mail for a business or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to agree on its behalf.
License and Device Limit
Cove Mail gives you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use the app for personal or internal business email while you have trial, complimentary, or paid access. One paid license may be used on up to three Macs. The people using those Macs do not need to be the purchaser, but the purchaser is responsible for use under the license.
You may not resell or commercially distribute Cove Mail, use one license on more than three Macs, bypass its licensing or security controls, interfere with the app or its services, or reverse engineer it except to the extent applicable law allows.
14-Day Trial
The trial begins after the first successful email sync and lasts for 14 days. It does not require payment information and does not become a paid subscription automatically. When the trial ends, you need paid or complimentary access to continue using paid features.
Subscriptions and Billing
Cove Mail subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle. Paddle handles payments, taxes, receipts, renewals, billing changes, cancellations, and refunds under the Paddle Buyer Terms. Prices and billing periods are shown before purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel renewal. You can manage billing or cancel renewal through the Paddle customer portal linked from this website or from your purchase receipt. Unless a refund or applicable law requires otherwise, cancellation stops the next charge and paid access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Using Paid Access
Purchases are processed through Paddle. Paid access begins after Paddle confirms the purchase. Cove Mail may need an internet connection to begin or confirm paid access. One license can be used on up to three Macs. Contact support if you need help changing the Macs that use it.
Cancellations and Refunds
Canceling renewal does not automatically refund a completed charge. Refund requests submitted within 14 calendar days of an initial purchase or renewal are reviewed under the Cove Mail Refund Policy and Paddle's Refund Policy. After 14 days, you may contact Cove Mail support to request an exception. Approved full refunds end the related paid access. Mandatory consumer rights always apply.
Your Email Accounts and Data
You are responsible for the email accounts, credentials, messages, and settings you add to Cove Mail. You must have permission to access each account and send from each address. Your use of an email provider remains subject to that provider's terms.
Cove Mail stores local copies to provide the app's features, but it is not an independent backup of your email account. Keep any backups you need. Removing local Cove Mail data does not delete information held by your email provider.
External AI Assistants
Cove Mail does not include an AI model. Connecting an external AI assistant is optional. You choose the email accounts and actions it can use. Once an action is enabled, the assistant can run it without another approval from Cove Mail. Review the assistant's requests and your Cove Mail settings before allowing it to read, draft, send, move, or delete email.
You are responsible for actions you authorize through a connected assistant. The assistant and its provider are separate services with their own terms, privacy practices, output, and availability.
Acceptable Use
You may not use Cove Mail to:
- Break the law or violate another person's rights;
- Access an email account without permission;
- Send spam, malware, or deceptive messages;
- Damage, overload, probe, or disrupt Cove Mail or its online services; or
- Avoid payment or misuse a trial, license, refund, or subscription.
Updates, Availability, and Support
We may provide updates for security, compatibility, or features. Email providers, AI providers, macOS, and other services can change in ways that affect Cove Mail. We do not guarantee that every provider or feature will always be available. We may suspend an online service when reasonably needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or abuse prevention.
Support is available by email, but we do not promise a specific response or resolution time unless required by law.
Ownership
Cove Mail, its design, software, and documentation are owned by Michael Danko or the applicable licensors. These Terms give you permission to use Cove Mail but do not transfer ownership of the product or its intellectual property.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Cove Mail at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these Terms, unlawful use, fraud, a payment dispute, or a serious security risk. We will provide notice when reasonably possible. A refund can end paid access as explained in the Refund Policy. Ending access does not automatically delete local email data from your Mac.
Warranty Disclaimer
Cove Mail is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent allowed by law, we do not make implied warranties or promise that Cove Mail will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every provider or service. This does not limit any warranty or consumer right that cannot be excluded.
Limits on Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Cove Mail and Michael Danko are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or data. Our total liability for claims related to Cove Mail will not exceed the amount you paid for Cove Mail during the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those places, these limits apply only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Questions and Disputes
Contact us first if you have a concern about Cove Mail so we can try to resolve it. Paddle handles disputes about payments it processed under its Buyer Terms. These Terms do not limit rights or remedies available under mandatory law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Cove Mail or the law changes. We will post the updated Terms here with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Changes apply going forward and do not remove rights that already apply to an earlier purchase.
General Terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy are the agreement between you and Cove Mail about the product. If one part is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a term does not waive the right to enforce it later.
